Take ’em out and show them off!
Goals, that is. My Goals. Your Goals.
Why? Because we get lax. We lose focus. We forget where we’re going.
In my case, that last bit is totally true. I can’t tell you how many times a day I get up from my desk and walk to the other side of the building, or downstairs to the survey department only to arrive and have no idea why I’m there.
I’m talking about personal goals here, goals for my overall health and well-being. I need to refresh every few months, regroup and move forward with a renewed spirit.
I’ve been banging my head on the wall lately, struggling with motivation as the scale refuses to move downward. I haven’t given up on achieving that magic number, not at all! I’ve just been trudging along like a toddler throwing a temper tantrum instead of dancing joyfully along the path. So what’s a girl to do? Stick with a group of friends and dive in again, of course! In an effort to pay more attention, I’m going to set weekly mini goals for the next few months, and focus more on enjoying the moment instead of anticipating the far off finish line.
Here are my goals for the week of March 25-31.
- Weight loss – One pound. That is all.
- NSV (Non-Scale Victory) – Eight Hours of Sleep minimum every night, even if it means going to bed with dishes in the sink and laundry half finished.
- Exercise – Four days of cardio and two days of weight training
- Nutrition – Eat more Veggies, and cut back a little more on the processed carbs that are trying to sneak back in.
