It’s been a long time, friends.
Life became complicated after cancer, and it’s taken me forever to return to the blog. A lot has happened. There was another wedding, for Princess Pea and her Prince Charming. The Architect, well, he actually grew up to be an Engineer! He’s moved to Colorado where he practices engineering, participates in mountain bike races (Leadville!) and lives with The Chef, who is his beautiful, talented and most perfectly suited partner. Dirt Bike is also grown – he’s traded the dirt bike for a motorcycle and works as a machinist / welder, building custom farm equipment, grain silos and other agricultural machines.
Three grandchildren now bless our lives and bring joy to our days. Cherry Ames and her Fireman have two amazing, kind and smart little girls, and Princess Pea and Prince Charming have an adorable baby boy, named after Mr. Pea.
Mr. Pea and I are still working, for now. We spend our days enjoying each other’s company, riding bikes and keeping the homestead. I’ve added a small flock of chickens (all named Dolores, collectively “The Dolori”), keep a garden and am trying to convince Mr. Pea that we need an alpaca for the fleece so I can spin yarn and knit more sweaters that we really do not need here in Texas.
