Minutes – November 5, 2014

::thankful – for rain!

::praying for – for my children; for more rain.

::remission – This week marks my one year anniversary. One year since Dr. W. looked at me with tears in her eyes and said, “The pathology report is not good.  They found cancer cells in every sample.” The moments that followed have crystallized in my mind, forever held with other breathless moments of my life; first, that endless gap between the sound of her voice registering on my brain cells and the tears beginning to fall, those seconds where I hung suspended, frozen.  Then, the following second when the universe gasped for air and I Knew. After months of suspecting that something was not quite right, I knew the awful ugly truth of it.

“I’m so sorry. You have cancer.”

One. Whole. Year. It’s been a very long year, my friends, and I can’t tell you how grateful I am to be here to celebrate this milestone.

::delicious –  Yes!  I have a Plan this Week!

  • Grilled Chicken, Broccoli and a Salad
  • Baked Ziti, Spinach Salad
  • Swedish Meatballs, Garlic Roasted Potatoes and Veggies
  • Pizza and Salad
  • Chicken Soup and Grilled Cheese Sandwiches
  • Grilled Salmon, Saffron Rice, Peas
  • Pork Roast, (smoked in the BGE), Sweet Potatos, Green Beans

::creative – Ahhh…I’ve started knitting something for Mr. Pea. I’ve knitted jillions of things over the years for the children, for myself and for friends, but nothing for Mr. Pea since I made this sweater for him (egads!) 29 years ago!!

2014.11.05 Sweater

Yep.  I made that sweater on the right for Mr. Pea for Christmas the year we got engaged. I worked on it while I was studying for semester finals in college, in-between concrete and structural steel design classes, and DURING traffic engineering class.  I’m amazed that I was able to find the pattern still available out there on the internet!  What I’m knitting now is considerably smaller, but something he will enjoy.

::this week – Work and school, a field trip for DirtBike, a robotics trip for The Architect, planning for Thanksgiving.  I’m cooking this year!!  YAHOOOO!!!!!!

Keep the Faith.
