Christmas Dress Challenge – Week Six – Smile and Wave!

This week I weighed in at 157.6 pounds, no loss, no gain.

It was a crazy busy week, work projects up to my eyeballs, Homecoming for my older kids, The Architect’s biology projects, Princess Pea’s college application deadlines, and a few fun things on the side.  Like hosting a mum making party for a gaggle of my kids’ friends which resulted in my sunroom being strewn with ribbons, bells, beads and glitter.  Seriously.  It still looks like Tinkerbell and her fairy friends had a major smack down in there. I’ll be vacuuming glitter until New Years.

In a nutshell, yes, I ate well, got my exercise, drank like a fish and read a little more of my book. I did not make many visits this week, nor did I manage a mid-week post.  This week will be back to normal, at least what presents as normal for me. 😉

I’ll leave you with a snapshot of The Architect and his friends posing for some Homecoming shots.  The Architect is on the far left, and yes, that’s a BRIGHT pink tie, because it’s his date’s favorite color.

Christmas Dress Challenge – Week Five – Holding Steady

This week I weighed in at 157.6 pounds, a 0.2 pound gain.  Right back where I was two weeks ago.  That’s just the way it is some times – nor harm, no foul.

DO-IT:  The Dress.  Picked it up from the store this week!!  Oh. My, Gosh.  It’s perfect!  It fits just a bit snug now and should be perfect perfect perfect by Christmas.

DO-IT: My  Weight Watchers points. I knew going in this was going to be a challenging week, with both Princess Pea and DirtBike’s birthdays,as well as some schedule conflicts that I knew would affect my exercise time.  I went over my daily point allowance every day, but I didn’t use up ALL of the weeklies and the activity points.  Pretty darn close, though!

DO-IT: Earn 50 activity points a week.  Oh sadness.  For the first time in forever, I didn’t get my whole 50 points this week. I did manage two self-defense classes with killer lunges (still sore) a short bike ride, my situps and pushups.

DO-IT: Consistency.  I would consider myself slacking this week, but then again, I’m probably my own worst critic!  I’m already heading into next week with plenty of exercise, hydration and a food plan that includes an abundance of veggies and not a bite of leftover birthday cake.

DO-IT: Hydrate.  Done!

DO-IT: I did not read a single page of Refuse to Regain this week.  I chose to work on a water model for work, reviewing an environmental assessment for a property that our my kids’ highschool is considering purchasing (I’m on the facilities committee and volunteer my engineering input when they need it), chaperoned an ecology class field trip for Princess Pea, and our entire family donated many hours to the Stephen Breen Foundation this week, helping host a dinner reception and a golf tournament.

DO-IT: One update post a week. Yes!  Both here and at the Christmas Dress Challenge Site.  Go Read It….I wrote about Consistency this week.

DO-IT: Link up to your weekly updates.  Done.

DO-IT:  Be supportive.  Yes!  Yes! Yes!  I’ll make the rounds again this week!

Hold Steady.  Keep the Faith.

Christmas Dress Challenge – Week Four – Extreme Exercise!!

This week I weighed in at 157.4 pounds, a 0.2 pound loss.  Here are the rest of the stats.

DO-IT:  The Dress.  Bought it, and it’s at the store ready to be picked up.  I just haven’t made it over there to fetch it.  Color me busy.

DO-IT: I’m a Weight Watchers fan, so I’ll stick to my points, 29 daily points 49 weeklies. This week I stayed within my daily allowance; I did not eat my weekly points. I did eat a few most of my activity points.  I’m so hungry after working out.

Dirt BunnyDO-IT: Earn 50 activity points a week.  Got this!  58 points in six days – 10 mile bike ride, two Self Defense Classes, a Jazzercize class, situps pushups, Boot Camp and one amazing mountain bike outing!  This week The Architect, my oldest son, and I went alone. I rode seven miles and didn’t fall even once!!

The picture right is from the trail.  Yep, I made The Architect stop and take my picture just for this blog.  How’s that for planning? This section of the trail runs right along the river bank; one slip of a tire and you fall 40 feet down into the Trinity River.  I pedal very, very slowly and carefully through here!

Just in case you’re wondering, Mr. Pea is strictly a road bike kind of guy – the mountain biking is for me and the kids, though we road bike with Mr. Pea, too.  His job is to call us several times during every ride to make sure we’re still okay. 😉

DO-IT: Consistency.  Consistent I was this week.  No binges, no slacking on exercise.

DO-IT: Hydrate.  Done!

DO-IT: I continued reading Refuse to Regain.  I really like the way the author encourages us to think of ourselves as Warriors in a righteous battle for our lives in a world determined to push garbage food in our faces.  And the chapter on guilt?  Oh yeah.  I so totally get it.

DO-IT: One update post a week.  Nope.  No excuses.  I just didn’t do it.

DO-IT: Link up to your weekly updates.  Done.

DO-IT:  Be supportive.  Yes!  Yes! Yes!  I may even fussed at a few of you.  Just know it’s because I love you

Be a Warrior.  Keep the Faith.
