Notes – December 3, 2014

How are you being crafty this week?  The pink socks are finished, so I’ve pulled out a work-in-progress that’s also been on my needles for a while:  my own Color Affection.  The yarn is a luscious blend of baby alpaca and bamboo – I cannot wait to wear this wrap!

Yarn – Classic Elite Vail in Chestnut and Parchment colorways, and Villa in Amethyst.

And that adorable project bag?  An original from Wanda at Reinventing Mother.  She has a Etsy shop, Drawstrings, for her beautiful bags, and they’re 15% off this week with the coupon code CYBERWEEK14.  Fabric bags are wonderful alternatives to wrapping paper….go check out Wanda’s store.  Her work is absolutely impeccable, and she finds the prettiest fabrics to create with!

Reading?   Advent Devotions with Jenny at The Littlest Way submittals for utility installations, concrete mix designs and geotechnical lab reports.  I miss the Outlander books!!

Linking up with Ginny…hop over and see what everyone is making.

Knit Something. Keep the Faith.

  1. I can still only knit slippers from a pattern in my head my mama taught me 35 or more years ago. That’s the same with crocheting, 25 years ago while driving truck a man was sitting on the grass one weekend making his new grandbaby a grandpa stitch (granny squares) quilt. I was interested so he taught me, the only thing I can do is grandpa stitch. I have made tons of pillows, a couple baby quilts but haven’t a clue as to a single crochet or double, just can make these. Your creations are awesome and look so pretty.
Take care Angela and know I’m reading and enjoying each and every one of your posts. Have a great day today. God Bless!!

  2. Baby alpaca and bamboo sounds like a wonderfully luxurious combination – what a lovely shawl! It looks like it’s going to be wonderful to wear 🙂

  3. When you wrote this post, I was finishing a pair of chartruese socks for my college roommate. Today I will be doing some ornament finishing: they are stitched already and I have to construct them. Over the weekend I finished a batch for a friend/customer; the ones today are for me!
