Praying for
- Michelle, for courage
- Judy Darling
- Sandi and Jim, that the surgeon be sure and steady during Jim’s heart surgery
- Kathleen, that she finds the work she needs
- our family, as we move forward with our decision to move the elder Mrs. Pea (Mr. Pea’s Mom) into our home. Please pray for us, for patience, open hearts and abundant good humor as we navigate this new stage of our lives.
- the healthy delivery of Baby Barett – Congratulations to Nicki and Andy!

I’m managing the resist the Thin Mints. It’s easy at home, where the boys and Mr. Pea hide their boxes (from each other! ha!) in the freezer, but it’s terribly difficult at work, where there are PILES of them. *sigh* If only it really was possible to eat just one, as in ONE cookie – instead of ONE SLEEVE of cookies – at a time!
Second post at Suscipio is coming this weekend…the Simple Secret of successful weight loss. I know you’re all just so excited.
::creative
The only creative thing I did this week was patch up a bunch of falling apart towels. Well, not actually patching them up; rather, I finish ripping the towels along the ‘natural’ rends that were already occurring, cut off all the strings that kept getting tangled up in the washer and dryer and serged around all the edges. I now have a stack of new cleaning rags! Isn’t that just as exciting as all get-out?
::delicious
- Tilapia and Fettuccine Alfredo
- Red Beans and Rice, Jalapeno-Cornbread Muffins
- Chicken Enchiladas, Spinach Salad
- Sliders with Caramelized Onions, Sweet Potato Fries and Green Beans
- Pancakes for Dinner!
- Shrimp Tacos with Guacamole
- Vegetable Soup, Homemade Bread
::fun
It’s Catholic School Week!! This means open house and other fun celebrations at the boys’ schools, like Western Day. The kindergarteners looked so adorable marching into school this morning with their itty-bitty cowboy boots and hats.
The Superman Race was AMAZING! I am so proud of The Architect – he finished the course in 4 hours and 27 minutes. He was the ONLY Category III competitor to finish, and the youngest racer by far. Unofficial results have him finishing in the top 20. We all had a great time watching the race, handing up food and drinks to the riders and peddling our own bikes around.

::looking ahead
Just an Ordinary Time week – ordinary days with ordinary events, meaning School and Work…which is actually quite nice!
Linking up at Suscipio – come join us!
