Friday Favorites – Catch and Release

This past weekend, we released our first born into the wild, ready for college and whatever lies beyond. Employment! Marriage! Babies!
She’s been accepted into a nursing program, and is going to be a Pediatric Nurse Practicioner.  We are so proud of her – so sad to see her go, so happy that she’s happy.

Learning to Run – Week Five, First Run

Did it!  Five minutes running, three walking, repeat four times.  Now I’m drenched with sweat and stinky sitting here at my desk.  Today is basketball tournament day for the guys, so I’d better dash downstairs and take a shower before they all come in and take over the locker rooms.

Lost three pounds this week. LOL!! I love the week after Aunt Flo takes a hike…all that water weight just miraculously disappears, making me feel like I’ve accomplished a whole lot more than just sitting around feeling crabby and bloated and wishing I could eat chocolate.

Keep up the good work, everyone.  I KNOW you’re working just as hard as you can in the Weight Loss Battle!  CHARGE!!!!!

Learning to Run – Week Four, 2nd, 3rd and 4th Runs – Our First Release

Slacking a bit on posting?  You Betcha.  It’s been a crazy week.  Second run happened Thursday, third run happened on Friday and fourth run was yesterday morning.  Yesterday I ran over to a construction site on the other side of my development where one of my projects is being constructed.  It looks great, exactly what I designed.  The contractor is doing a good job.  The concrete is finished well, and saw joints have already cracked through to the bottom of the pavement section.  Yes.

Here’s my focus for today –

We have a house full of family and plenty of food ready for later this afternoon.  Well, there will be plenty once I make some potato salad.   Husband Dear is outside cleaning the patio and putting ice in coolers.
Today we release our first born into the wild, ready for college and for whatever lies beyond.
