::faithful

praying for Michelle and her family.  Breast cancer has won another battle – a very hard fought battle.  Prayers for strength and comfort for all of them as they navigate these end days.

::pondering

Parenting quasi-adult kids.  We no longer give direction and instruction.  We simply act as a sounding board as they work out their own problems.  It’s hard to not blurt out the right answer, but I manage to bite my toungue.  Experience is the best teacher.

::Homey

Is fall here yet? The boys pulled out the Halloween decorations.  Now it needs to get cooler.

::creative

Squeee!!  Baby sweater on the knitting needles!  It’s adorable, all stripey brown and cream.  Next in the queue is a pair of fuzzy pink booties for another baby.  I like that all my young friends are having babies.

::The Project

I started researching appliances this week. I’m looking for a largish all in one stove, because I want to move my oven.  Right now, it’s in the wall right next to the fridge, and it vents out into the kitchen because there are cabinets all around and over it.  A one piece stove located on the adjacent wall under a new vent will work better.

::delicious

  • Steak, Mashed Potatotes, Spinach Salad
  • Turkey Sandwiches on Croissants and Veggie Soup
  • Chili Frito Pie (Thanks, Jenny, for the idea!)
  • Barbeque Chicken, Green Beans and Something Else
  • Veggie Lasagna, if I can figure out how to ‘bake’ it in a crockpot
  • Grilled Ginger Orange Salmon, Saffron Rice and Peas
  • Bean Soup with Ham, Cornbread Muffins (baked in my friend’s kitchen)

Crafty – September 3, 2014

Hydref (2) Hydref (4)I have wanted to make a fall themed scarf for a long, long time.  I’ve been browsing through patterns for leaf edged beauties, and then this caught my eye…a test knit for a favorite designer, Abigail Phelps of Blackberry Knits.  I raised my hand, yelled “Me! Me! Pick Me!” and Voila!!  I’m working on a gorgeous scarf that looks like giant leaves strung together!

I’m using Madeline Tosh merino light, “Magnolia Leaf”.  Even more decadent is that the scarf is kissed with scattered glass beads in an antique gold color, and each leaf is tipped with cut glass drop beads.

Reading this week – Philippians and The 4:8 Principal: The Secret to a Joy-Filled Life with friends over at The Littlest Way. I’ve also been nudging along with the Outlander series; I’m halfway through Dragonfly in Amber.

Linking up with Ginny…hop over and see what everyone is making.

Knit Something. Keep the Faith.

Minutes – September 1, 2014

::thankful – for hair!  I got a “haircut” on Saturday – a trim on my neckline and around my ears. My hair may be uber short, but by gosh, it’s neatly styled!

::praying for – Ramona, for healing; for my kids – for an awesome school year; for all the things.

::remission – Isn’t that a grand word?  I rode my bike today – 12 miles at a 13 mph pace.   Yahoo!!  12 miles isn’t all that far, and 13 mph could be considered to be on the slow side, but by golly, I’m well enough now to get ON MY BIKE!!!  Time to start working back to full strength so that I can ride the Hotter ‘n Hell ride next year!  I’ve ditched the wig and scarves since my scalp is now covered and the temperatures are over 100 degrees.  It’s quite liberating to have wash and go hair!

::fun – Biking this morning with Mr. Pea and DirtBike.  Cruising the mall yesterday afternoon.  Wow.  I haven’t been to the mall in eons.  There’s a lot to see nowdays.

::delicious –

  • Grilled Salmon, Saffron Rice and a Tossed Salad
  • Roasted Chicken (Grill), Veggie Salad
  • Ratatoulli
  • Beef and Been Burritos
  • Ginger Chicken,
  • Veggie Soup, Parmesean Muffins
  • Visit to Oklahoma – Dinner with Family!

::captured –

Keep the Faith.
