Christmas Dress Challenge – Week Three – Got a Dress!!

This week I weighed in at 157.6 pounds, a 0.1 pound loss.

The best thing this week?  I finally Conquered the Priority #1 DO-IT!!  I have to confess right up front that it is NOT in a smaller size. It’s actually in a bigger size than what I wear now.  Before you all scream ‘Not Fair!!’ think about Mir’s post about clothes sizes and the feedback about how ridiculous they can be.  I checked this brand’s size chart and I’ve tried on this style dress in store and it runs very, very small.  It’s a jersey knit, very clingy and very shaped.  Wanna see??

The Red Dress!!No, I’m not this slender, nor this young!  I look okay, though, for an advanced middle aged mother of four, and I can not WAIT to wear this dress!!

Princess Pea's Prom Shoes

I think I need some spectacular shoes to wear with this.  Maybe I can borrow Princess Pea’s prom shoes.

DO-IT: I’m a Weight Watchers fan, so I’ll stick to my points, 29 daily points 49 weeklies. This week I stayed within my daily allowance; I did not eat my weekly points. I did eat a few of my activity points.

DO-IT: Earn 50 activity points a week.  Got this!  Exercised six days – 15 mile bike ride, 10 mile bike ride, two Zumba sessions, tree trimming, garage cleaning, situps pushups and one mountain bike outing. That one was hard because DirtBike, my teen son, took a tough spill in the first mile and sprained his ankle.  He was able to pedal on the levels, but the pressure on the uphills was a bit much.  We had to ride three miles before we could safely get off the trail, and for every hill, I had to get off my bike, help push him up, then hike back down for my own bike and pedal up.  I earned 54 points this week.

DO-IT: Consistency.  Consistent I was this week.  No binges, no slacking on exercise.

DO-IT: Hydrate.  Done!

DO-IT: I started reading Refuse to Regain, and so far, I find it interesting with some sound, realistic advice.  .

DO-IT: One update post a week.  Yes. Yes again for the Christmas Dress Blog.

DO-IT: Link up to your weekly updates.  Done.

DO-IT:  Be supportive.  Yes!  I’ll see you all this week, too!

Keep the Faith.

Christmas Dress Challenge – Week Two – Holding Steady!

Slow and Steady Wins the Race.

Slow and Steady

This week I weighed in at 157.7 pounds, a 0.5 pound gain.  I’m still fitting comfortably in a size 10, no tight waists (some are even loose) or constricting sleeves or legs.  This is the reality of the weight loss venture, up, down, up, down, down, up, up, down and down. We really have to focus on the L..O..N..G term results which in my case are ultimately down. Way down from my all time high of 223 pounds.

So how’d I do this week?

PRIORITY #1 “Do-It” : Get a smaller sized dress. No progress still, other than knowing exactly what I want. There’s a world of dresses out there, and yes, I will get the red on that makes my head spin with giddy happiness.  What I DID do this week is purge my closet.  Because this time is the final time, I’ve been giving away my large clothes. I’m not keeping them in the attic ‘just in case’.  I am banning them from my life.

DO-IT: I’m a Weight Watchers fan, so I’ll stick to my points, 29 daily points 49 weeklies. This week I stayed within my daily allowance, and only ate extra points if I earned them with activity.

DO-IT: Earn 50 activity points a week.  Got this!  Exercised six days – biking, Zumba, walking and some situps, pushups and one (ONE) pull up.  I earned 52 activity points this week.

DO-IT: Consistency.  Consistent I was this week.  No binges, no slacking on exercise.  I enjoyed some extra points again this week with a hamburger and chicken marsala, but I worked off the extra points within 48 hours.

DO-IT: Hydrate.  Done!

DO-IT: Read a book. I purchased Refuse to Regain, but it was only available through Amazon in the Kindle format.  I’ve started converting the file, and plan to start reading it tonight.

DO-IT: One update post a week.  I’m still giving myself credit for posting at the Christmas Dress Countdown site, and I posted here, too. Good Me.

DO-IT: Link up to your weekly updates.  Done.

DO-IT:  Be supportive.  Yes!  I’ll see you all this week, too!

Slow and Steady.  Keep the Faith.

Christmas Dress Challenge – Week One – Happy Dance!

Happy Dance! Happy Dance!

This week I weighed in at 157.2 pounds.  THAT, friends, is the absolute lowest Post Offspring weight I’ve ever weighed.  Understand how significant this is:  my oldest child is now in college; the baby will turn fourteen in a few weeks.

So how’d I do this week?

PRIORITY #1 “Do-It” : Get a smaller sized dress. This is still only sort of done.  I went back to the website to actually buy that red dress from last week, and it’s only available in a size 2.  Who the heck wears a size 2?  Really?  So I’m on a quest for a red dress. I DID disassemble a size 14 suit and put it back together as a size 10 this week.  I praise my Mother’s Name every time I tackle a project like this, eternally grateful that she taught me how to sew.

DO-IT: I’m a Weight Watchers fan, so I’ll stick to my points, 29 daily points 49 weeklies.  This week I stayed at my daily allowance, and only ate extra points if I earned them with activity.

DO-IT: Earn 50 activity points a week.  Got this!  Exercised six days – biking, Zumba and a quick pickup game of basketball with The Architect.  He kicked my tail, because I couldn’t get a ball in the basket to save my life.  I earned 53 activity points this week.

Week of 9.12 Progress Report

DO-IT: Consistency.  Consistent I was this week.  No binges, no slacking on exercise.  I enjoyed some extra points on Friday, but exercised them off within 48 hours.

DO-IT: Hydrate.  Done!

DO-IT: Read a book. I purchased Refuse to Regain, but it was only available through Amazon in the Kindle format.  I haven’t made time yet to hack the file and convert it so I can read it on the nook.  I suppose I could read it on the iPad, but I’d have to pry it away from the husband and offspring.

DO-IT: One update post a week.  Okay…I’m giving myself credit for posting at the Christmas Dress Countdown site.

DO-IT: Link up to your weekly updates.  Done.

DO-IT:  Be supportive.  Okay – I could so seriously overdo this, but I have a job that takes priority.  And a family that includes offspring who need help with homework.  And I teach an engineering course at the university.

Cheer for Yourself.  Keep the Faith.
